Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato new Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam‘ premieres Friday, September 3 @ 8 PM ET/PT. The movie’s soundtrack, featuring 15 original songs spanning hip-hop, rock and pop/rock, will be available Tuesday July 27 on iTunes and in stores nationwide.

This summer of fun opens on a high-pitched Camp Rock reunion. All the Camp Rockers have returned, eager to tune up and rock out. Nobody’s more excited than Mitchie, who anticipates more than a summer of music. Fresh from a world tour, the rock band Connect 3 are hanging all summer, Shane to pursue last summer’s crush on Mitchie, his band mates as moral support.

Guitar legend Brown Cesario, Camp Rock’s owner, is ready to rock ‘n roll. But all is not copasetic at this rocking teen paradise. Across the lake glistens the new Camp Star: a high-tech, big-money music camp funded by Brown’s former band mate-with-a-grudge, Axel Turner. Down-to-earth Camp Rock may have passion, talent and commitment, but Camp Star boasts resources, infrastructure and money, enough money to poach Camp Rock’s counselors and put..

..Camp Rock out of business. But Axel isn’t counting on a natural born leader named Mitchie, who vows to save her beloved camp and her friends’ summer. Clipboard in hand, she organizes the older Camp Rockers into counselors and keeps the camp running. Then Mitchie steps it up again.. by challenging the egocentric Camp Star to a Final Jam, an end-of-summer performance duel.. may the best camp win.

THE CONCERT: The Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and the rest of the cast of the movie will be heading out on a worldwide concert tour. The three continent concert tour begins July 27 in Dallas, Texas. Tickets can be purchased at LiveNation. Also, beginning May 11, fans can also access a “Camp Rock”-themed premium iTouch and iPhone app, which will also be optimized for the iPad, to buy tickets to the concert, hear music clips, watch videos and more.

THE SOUNDTRACK: Featuring 15 original songs spanning hip-hop, rock and pop/rock, including “Can’t Back Down,” will be available Tuesday, July 27 on iTunes and in stores nationwide.

THE MOVIE: Premieres Friday, September 3 @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.

The official release date for the Camp Rock sequel is July 13/2010. Don’t forget to watch it in July!

Slightly more than a year after Walt Disney Studios registered a first-weekend haul of $31 million for its ” Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert ” from fewer than 700 3-D screens, Disney and Imax have agreed to add dozens of giant 3-D screens to the February 27 wide release of ” Jonas Brothers : The 3D Concert Experience.” That means there should be upward of 1,100 3-D venues playing the latest teens-and-tweens concert film , including 55 Imax venues.

The Imax auditoriums supplement engagements in venues operated by various other 3-D vendors. With the movie industry’s rollout of 3-D projection still a work in progress , Disney will aim to use almost every installed 3-D screen in North America .

“Every time you go out with a 3-D film these days, you tend to set a record for the number of engagements because seats are at a premium,” Disney distribution president Chuck Viane said. “So any time you can add 55 engagements, that’s a really good opportunity.”

All the “Jonas” playdates are being promoted as “one week only” engagements, though success in the non-Imax venues could spur Disney to add an additional week to the picture’s run. That’s what happened with “Hannah,” which unspooled February 1 , 2008, and rang up a total $65.3 million domestically after extending its theatrical run for a few weeks.

Such a move won’t be possible on the Imax side, where the giant-screen exhibitor has wedged in the “Jonas” playdates in auditoriums scheduled to begin showing Warner Bros .’ “Watchmen” the following weekend.

The “Jonas” runs are the first in a five-movie pact Imax has with Disney. Their next collaboration will be the November 6release of Disney’s 3-D animated feature “A Christmas Carol.”
